Vegas or Bust!
Ok so it’s been a while since I posted here but really there hasn’t been IMHO, much to be reporting about. That all changed last night though when my friend Christian Payne, a.k.a. Documentally, posted a video on phreadz.com, a multimedia site built by another of my good friends Kosso.
Documentally said that he really needed to go to the New Media Expo in Las Vegas which is on in a couple of weeks, and said how much he could show off a platform such as Phreadz, and long and short of it is within half an hour an anonymous donor had stepped up to the mark and donated enough for Documentally to realise his vision. Funnily enough the founder Kosso can’t even afford his rent next month - goes to show what angels are prepared to invest in, and rent doesn’t seem to be one of them!
Now I’ve never known a social media network to get any amount of funding direct from its users with such success - I did email Mike Butcher from techcrunch.co.uk with the exciting news, but even though he is a member of Phreadz and has sung it’s praises previously, he seemed rather disinterested in this news (too busy talking about iPhone Nano’s to worry about what’s going on in the real world lol!), so I thought I’d post it here - ah, the power of blogging…
What I find funny is that people, the general public, still don’t seem to have caught on to the fact that they hold they keys to change in the world - don’t wait for someone else to step up to the mark - if there’s something you feel should exist in the world and there’s a paypal button attached to the side of it well you know what to do….!
