Interesting (again!) - I guess the GNUWorldOrder 'concept' is more specific than open4.org, which is good.

Thanks Foomandoonian, much appreciated - will give it some more thought...

I think you summed up my reasons why perfectly there! I gather you would then interview the people you visited for a film or series of films. You have combined several great uses of the internet (mapping interface, digg style 'democratic' voting and online video) and produced an easy to understand concept. I even like the domain, although I wouldn't trust my opinion exclusively for this, as I own some strange doamins myself!

The site needs polishing, and I don't know how you would go about promoting it, but I'd give it some more thought.

As for Open4, it's in no way BAD idea, but I think you are up against TONS of competition in that arena.

Interesting - what kind of potential do you think? I just like the fact that it puts it in a little more context - you can see what's going on /and/ where easily.

The gnuworldorder.info domain runs out next month - let's see if I can work out a way to keep it going (or think of a better domain). I haven't added anything on it for ages - again, it's trying to get something which other people will want to join in with.

Ultimately I'd love to report back from free software in action from around the world - in schools, businesses, govt, etc. - the idea was that I would visit the ones members voted up the most.
