Seesmic Shines in Multimedia Music-making Marathon Mashup!
A fantastic experiment in multimedia music making is currently happening between video conversation site seesmic and riseandshine.tv.
Today is day four of fellow seesmate and music industry veteran Deek Deekster’s month-long create a song a day marathon and seesmic have kindly sectioned off a corner of their site to help interaction between visitors of each site. Each day a different theme for a song is decided between members of both sites and recorded in three hours between 7am and 10am.
All proceeds are going to Buskaid, a charity which gives children from impoverished backgrounds in the townships of South Africa the opportunity to learn classical stringed instruments to the highest possible standards.
Due to my own seesmic addiction I’ve missed the early mornings, but I love the concept and today’s song about time brought a tear to my eye. Unfortunately I’m not in a financial position at the moment to donate, but I do have a blog and some readers, so I’m hoping someone out there in the ether will read this and pass on a pound or two on my behalf.
Excellent work Deek, and nice to see the corporate world of highly investment startups make that little bit of extra effort which can make all the difference in the world.

thanks a lot steve, your input was appreciated!
